THE ALGORITHM

How we build your table.

We don't match anyone by hand. We read that week's applicants' answers and look at a few signals that produce a balanced table for everyone. The goal isn't a perfect match; it's a table where conversation flows and no one gets left out.

The signals the algorithm reads

  • Gender & age balance

We keep the gender and age spread even so the table doesn't tilt toward one profile.

  • Conversation & energy fit

We don't aim for everyone to share the same energy; we look for the whole to strike a good balance.

  • Topic variety

We bring together different interests and professions so there's always something new to talk about.

  • Neighborhood proximity

We pick a venue that's easy to reach for the people at your table — no crossing the whole city.

  • Budget fit

We choose the venue within a shared budget range everyone at the table is comfortable with.

What the matching rests on

We take inspiration from personality and compatibility principles: you meet not among lookalikes, but at a table where people balance each other. The algorithm picks no favorites; the goal is a varied but well-matched table.

Identities hidden in advance

We share no names, photos or profiles. You meet the people at your table only when you pull up your chair — a real first encounter, without the prejudice.
